Albert Conly is a senior managing director in the FTI Consulting Corporate Finance/Restructuring practice and is based in Dallas. Mr. Conly has 34 years of extensive restructuring, corporate finance and asset management experience in a variety of industries, including energy; financial services; telecommunications; retail; real estate; manufacturing; distribution and broadcasting.

Mr. Conly has a proven track record solving clients’ complex business issues related to restructurings; mergers and acquisitions; dispositions; business integration; capital raising and capital structure; operational improvements and investment decisions.
During his tenure, Mr. Conly has represented a wide variety of clientele with corporate finance, business recovery, lender services, investigative and litigation advisory services needs. His assignments include large and complex transactions with several constituencies and competing agendas. Examples of representative engagements include Capmark Financial Group; a $28 billion fund manager; AGE Refining; TXCO Resources; a large mid-stream gas master limited partnership; a large power generation company; Fremont General; Big West Oil; American Home Mortgage; Entergy New Orleans; Cerro Negro JV; Sage Crest; Sphinx Funds; a large U.S. refining company; a mid-size U.S. refining company; Patman Drilling International; Reichmann Petroleum; a Fortune 25 energy company; Fortune 50 energy company; CDX Gas; Energy Partners; Davis Petroleum; Enron and Washington Mutual
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Conly was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers and a managing director in the corporate and investment bank of Bank of America, where he managed the bank’s exposure to financial institutions, including banks, mortgage companies, finance companies, broker and dealers, money managers and leasing companies. His experience includes eight years of corporate finance and restructuring experience with Bank of America and its predecessors, seven years of energy industry experience, and five years of regulatory and compliance experience with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
While with Bank of America, Mr. Conly was responsible for the management and disposition of approximately $1.2 billion of owned oil and gas properties obtained through foreclosure or settlement with borrowers. Additionally, he served in various capacities, including as joint venture and revenue accountant with Texas Eastern and National Exploration Company, director of finance with Traco Petroleum and controller with Petroleum Acquisitions.
Furthermore, Mr. Conly has served on numerous panels and spoke about a variety of corporate finance and restructuring topics, including presentations to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s Large Bank Examination group on several industries, including telecommunications and power. Additionally, he has been appointed to the executive council of the State Bar of Texas Bankruptcy Law Section as the non-lawyer representative.
Mr. Conly holds a B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a certified public accountant in the state of Texas.
